Course 336 - GSM 3G WCDMA Migration: UMTS, UTRA

Scope

This one-day seminar examines the migration path from GSM systems into third-generation UMTS operation. The seminar extends the 2.5G GPRS and EDGE modes described in Course 335 to the full third generation operation known as UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications Services) and implemented in UTRA (UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access). At conclusion, participants should be able to identify the channel structure, network architecture, key capabilities and features of UMTS.

Applicability

3G Wireless systems of all technologies and manufacturers.
